Can you put subwoofer behind couch?
Rear placement right behind the couch is absolutely one of our favorite locations for both home theater and music. This is perhaps the most optimal location in most cases, because it lets you turn down the volume on the subwoofer while getting more impact.
Can you place a subwoofer behind you?
You can place a subwoofer behind you or in the back of the room but this is likely not going to be the most optimal location. Ideally, the subwoofer should be placed at the front of the room pulled at least 6-inches away from the wall for the best low-frequency audio signal performance.
